Gruen is Back

Gruen is back tonight for 10th Season.

And CM Catering is back providing crew catering for the CJZ production team.

Wil Anderson will return as host, together with regular panel members, PwC chief creative officer Russel Howcroft and ex-Leo Burnett chairman Todd Sampson.

The CJZ crew always light up when supper arrives.

Activation Catering

We are often asked by  PR & marketing companies to assist with catering activations.

This typically involves an onsite demonstration of a product in a public space.  Or increasingly, we are being asked to assist with specific, targeted rollouts to individual businesses.

Often these activations are food related, but this week we are providing a Berry enhanced yogurt to complement a shampoo launch.

Some of our recent clients have included Helga’s Bread, Woolworths, Corona, Linq Promotions and Wonder Communications, East Village Green Square (AGB Events) , Hausmann communications, Pete Evans (Cleavers Meats) and Austereo (2DayFM & TripleM).

 

Sculpture at Barangaroo

The Barangaroo precinct will be holding a free sculpture exhibition this month.  The event runs from 6 – 21 August in the spectacular new Harbour Foreshore Park.

The event is presented in partnership with Sculptures by the Sea, which has been delighting Sydney with its outdoor exhibitions along the Bondi coastal walk for almost 20 years a at Bondi.

The opening day will feature a performance by Jannawi Dance Clan at 12pm on Walumil Lawn.

As CM Catering is providing the crew catering for the event team, we have been able to get an advanced look at many of the installations.

Catering Feedback – Fremantle Media Launch

 

We were very excited to both provide catering to Fremantle Media this week and to receive such positive catering feedback.

 

Samantha we were blown away by the catering yesterday! Absolutely thrilled with the quality of food and the delightful service. Will absolutely be keeping your details on file for future events. Thanks so much for being so flexible and easy to deal with! Not many places that I can think of that would be so unfazed given the short turnaround!

The event was a VIP launch for new show hosted by the icon of the Australian Television industry, Daryl Somers.

Daryl will host “You’re Back In The Room” for the Nine network.

You’re Back In The Room is billed as a hilarious new game show that gives contestants the opportunity to win cash prizes while being under the power of hypnotism. Standing between them and the money will be hypnotists Keith Barry, who puts each one under hypnosis to thwart their efforts.

The launch was at Fox Studios in Sydney.

Christmas Party Checklist

Yes, it is that time of year.  Time to make sure you have arranged your corporate Christmas Party.

Checklist

Decide who is running the event. – Sometimes this is one person or a committee of staff.  If it is a large event, consider an event management company.   Often your caterer will be able to provide advice on the event operations.

Set the date – Make sure the people you want at the party are available.  The date may change based on the availability of many of the items in the checklist below.

Decide who will be invited – Is the event for staff, clients, suppliers or a combination of all three.

Set your budget – Find out what the budget is, then move on to arranging the event within the budget.   It is a waste of your time to “get ideas” and quotes if it will never be approved.

Allocate the budget – decide what are the important aspects of the event and how to allocate the budget.

Decide on the style – ask yourself if the event will have a theme.

Find a venue – venue space is limited for Christmas parties.  The venue must both be available and be ideally suited to your size and style.   Remember, if the venue is too big for your guest numbers, it will impact on the atmosphere.  Also consider the location carefully, especially transport options to and from the venue at the end of the event.

Theming, styling and decorations – Make it look good.  The styling really sets the theme of the occasion.   If you are going to the effort to hold the event,  make sure everyone remembers it.

Find a caterer –  The most important part of booking a Christmas Party.  Call us now to discuss your event.

Entertainment – Make it appropriate for the event.

Book it in – don’t be left without an option.   Partners will not usually hold space or availability for you if they have not heard from you.
